“FAMILY GATHERING”

ABOUT THIS KITCHEN PROJECT

The clients liked to entertain and the original did not meet their needs as it lacked counter space and was closed off from the family room. The wall between the kitchen and the dining room was widened for a better view to the dining room. The wall between the kitchen and the family room was removed with extensive structural work and now flows to the eat-in area and the family room for better entertaining. A peninsula allows for counter seating and greater counter space for prepping food. The custom black metal hood was designed to tie in the black wood burning stove in the family room. A mix of white and blue cabinetry as well as black and gray-blue countertops help tie in the space. Wood beams were installed in the family room to help make sense of the existing angled ceiling. A small outdoor space was converted to an indoor space to allow for a small office for the homeowner.
