LIVING SPACE
“Details Matter”
ABOUT THIS LIVING SPACE PROJECT
Our clients originally had a store bought shelf with dentil moulding as a mantel on their first floor fireplace. During the time that we were working to convert their duplex in to a single family home, they asked us to design a more elaborate mantel that would be fitting of their 1920’s Tudor home. We designed the mantel with a series of corbels since that was a treatment often seen on the exterior of Tudor designed homes. The wood trim in their home was white oak so we searched for white oak appliques that could be placed between the corbels and run across the front of the mantel creating a band around three sides of the fireplace. The wood was stained to match the original stain color in their home.
